The incomparable New York Fashion Week wrapped up at the end of last week. As always, celebrities, starlets and all kinds of fashionable folk descended on venues throughout greater New York City. It’s THE place to be seen- and see the fabulous new looks on the runway, of course!
But the fashion doesn’t just stay on the runway- lucky attendees dress to the nines just to be spectators! A few of our favorite looks..
Kate Mara set off her gorgeous red hair in emerald green Zac Posen at the designer’s show.
Blake Lively was a bombshell in black and white, in Noon by Noor at that line’s show.
Jessica Alba is super-fierce in Michael Kors before his runway show.
Leighton Meister accessorized her pretty printed Vera dress with serious statement shoes at Vera Wang.
Dakota Fanning glowed in sparkly Marc Jacobs, sitting front row at the show.
These are just a handful of the chic styles seen on lovely ladies (and some dashing men!) at New York Fashion Week. Which was your favorite look?

The original plan was for today’s blog post to be a red carpet review of the Writer’s Guild Awards, held last night- we’ve been getting good feedback on our awards show recaps, and it’s fun to admire the gorgeous attire. But the red carpet was petite, and it seems like stars had better things to do with their Sunday evening than attend this awards show- the photo pickings were slim!
Not one to have plans run off the rails, we chose to highlight a single stylista- the co-host of the show, the adorable Zooey Deschanel.
Obviously- Zooey is supercute. She’s been all over the radar lately, with her show, band, and great fashion taste, and last night was no exception. She stepped out in a precious plaid vintage dress from Shareen’s Vintage.
How gorgeous was the exposed back?
We also adored her perfectly themed manicure- keyboard-inspired, dedicated to writers!
We love how Zooey carries a look through, keeping her details and accessories flawlessly styled, but always showing her true personality.

Fans across countries and generations were dismayed by the news of the incomparable Whitney Houston’s untimely death last week. As she is laid to rest in her hometown of Newark, New Jersey today, it is only fitting that we pay tribute to a woman who was, and always will be, a legend.
A star through and through, she is one of the top-grossing singers in history, and will be remembered as a style icon, a legendary voice, and an overwhelming talent. May she rest in peace. More » 02/16

This dress was a fan favorite here at the office as soon as we spotted the first sample…. Do you blame us?
The candy-colored stripes are tempered nicely by black and ivory, and the cutaway cold shoulder is super-stylish. Fortunately, the stretchy textile makes for a dress that is as comfortable as it is cute!
This dress is available at Winners in Canada, Marshalls and TJ Maxx, and will be arriving at Bealls and Macy’s for the beginning of March.
Wear it well!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
We like to think that today is about love and kindness to those all around you, and sharing the sweetness with everyone you love.
Speaking of love… our little girl’s line of dresses and skirts has hit stores and is super cute. A few of the girls styles coordinate with styles in our adult dresses line, and we died over the cuteness of this well-coordinated mother and daughter pair!
Seriously, how precious are these two? The adult version of this dress is not currently available, but the girl’s version is in stores and can be found at Marshalls and TJ Maxx, among other places.
Wishing you lots of love, today and always!

The Grammy Awards took place last night, and you know what that means… We’ve got the red carpet roundup for you today! We saw lots of fabulous looks on the fashion pre-shows, some that wowed us and some that made us wonder what on earth people were thinking.

Corinne Bailey Rae hit the red carpet in a sassy Christian Siriano cocktail dress. Katy Perry was a vision in aqua Elie Saab Couture, but the tone-on-tone hair might have gone too far. Kelly Osborne was sleek in champagne sequins by Tony Ward- and her lilac-grey hair accented rather than distracted. And Adele, who owned the night with her comeback performance and 6 Grammy wins, was classy as always in custom Armani Prive.
We loved the designer duds on the next two starlets, but the styling choices were a little iffy.
Fergie was sizzling in Jean Paul Gaultier- but the black undergarments detract from the beauty of the lace. Perhaps a slip instead with a see-through dress? And we love Taylor Swift and her golden Zuhair Muhad dress… just not together. The dress was a little mature and over the top for the gorgeous and glowing girl- it unfortunately seemed to wear her rather than vice versa.
We are huge fans of innovative fashion, but we just found the next two looks confusing.
Nicki Minaj set tongues wagging in her Versace getup, supposedly symbolic of the Pope’s red vestments, while Russian pop star Sasha Gradiva took fashion inspiration from the Terminator. To each their own, we guess?
And we loved them on youtube, and now on the red carpet as well…
Superstylish tots Sophia Grace and Rosie cheesed on the red carpet, where they were ‘reporting’ for the Ellen DeGeneres Show. So cute!

Generally, our days at the office are pretty low-key. Though we enjoy our jobs, we are all pretty focused on getting our work done and as such, our offices are not the noisiest place in the world.
Today was a bit of an exception- we had a little birthday luncheon for one of production specialists…. hooray for ice cream sundaes! While lovely, we have little birthday lunches often for our staffers- so it was not the cause for hysteria.
We also had a special (celebrity) guest stop by. You might not recognize his face, but you probably know his music. If you’ve ever heard of dubstep, that is all his magic. He’s in town for the Grammy’s, since he’s nominated for FIVE.
All the excitement was because Skrillex was in the house- literally!
And no, you will not see Skrillex sporting BeBop… We haven’t added a menswear line, he was just seeing one of our employees personally.
Just another Thursday… yeah right!

You might think that blue and orange together are an eyesore, but colors that oppose each other on the color wheel are complimentary, and actually look great together. Wanna see?
Today, our sleeveless chiffon pleated dress (available at Nordstrom Rack) is being worn in deep blue, accented with beige tights and that bright orange jacket. Together, the colors pop beautifully, and are so cheerful!

Often, people underestimate the connotation of personal style. It’s not just what’s in your closet, limited to skinnies, sweaters and skirts. And while accessories add polish and panache to outfit choices, they can only do so much. We LOVE us some shoes and purses, but they are not the end all and be all of style. The final touches are always all about YOU- the personal style choices you make when it comes to hair, makeup, and today’s focus, nails.
Nails and all things related are super-popular now. The Kardashians, Justin Beiber, Katy Perry, and Nicki Minaj have all debuted polish collections partnered with OPI brands- and that’s just the celebrity endorsements!
Stylish, supercute nails are also all over the magazines and the red carpets… We, along with fashionista’s everywhere, went gaga for Zooey Deschanel’s tuxedo nails at the Golden Globes.
While nail art is supertrendy right now- just do a Pinterest or google search- sometimes you need to walk before you can run. So, courtesy of Alyson at OCM: The Only Cure More Makeup, a tutorial for a salon style manicure at home!

If a basic manicure is right in your wheelhouse, spread your wings by trying some do-it-yourself nail art. Refinery 29 is discussing ideas today too- I guess they agree with us!

Here at BeBop, we are invested in all things fashion- it is our work and our play! We keep up with all the latest runway shows, and have a gaggle of fashion bloggers that we follow. Imagine our surprise when we found out that the bloggers and the runway were about to become better acquainted!
What on earth are we talking about? Polyvore Live, the first-ever fashion and beauty blogger fashion show to be live streamed on its site. Some of our favorite bloggers, like Dylana from Color me Nana, Helena from Brooklyn Blonde, Rebecca from The Clothes Horse, Julie from Sincerely Jules, along with sixteen other superstylish girls, will be taking the runway by storm.
With makeup sponsored by CoverGirl, the show will feature the designs of FIT alumni including Dana-Maxx, Lauren Bagliore, Gavaskar, and Celestino.
A snapshot from the wardrobe fittings:
Plan to check it out live next Monday, February 13, at 6 p.m. EST, on Polyvore. We’ll be watching and can’t wait to recap the looks!

We’re can’t help but love Hailee Steinfeld. She’s super sweet, has fantastic style, and is always dressed appropriately, which can be tough for Hollywood’s teen starlets.
When you live in a world where you are treated and expected to act like an adult when you’re not, it can create a little bit of conflict. But not for Hailee! She is renowned for being polite, kind, and a good role model…. oh yes, and an unbelievable actress, too.
Designers love her, and she loves them. She’s been sporting loads of chic designer styles at her appearances. Here are some of our favorites:
She rocked Moschino Cheap and Chic at the Oscar nomination luncheon last year (photo from buzznet.com)…
and turned out in the prettiest custom Marchesa ballerina dress for the Academy Awards (Getty photo).
We ADORE the bright striped Prada dress she wore to the SAG awards last year (photo from buzznet.com).
And she’s a beauty in black in Jenny Packham at the National Board of Review Motion Picture Gala (photo from buzznet.com).
We love everything about Hailee, especially her style. What’s you’re favorite red carpet look she has worn?

Here at BeBop, we are HUGE fans of polyvore.com. We love that we can brainstorm and put together cute outfits in sets with ease! We’ve shared many of our sets here on our blog, as well as on our facebook page… have you gotten a chance to check them out?
But Polyvore is more than just playing with pictures. The site also really encourages community-building, and we can’t help but love something that involves sharing fashion with others! One of the ways Polyvore does that is through Polyvore answers, where someone can post a fashion related question of any kind, and members can give their opinion, illustrated with pictures or sets. We answered one today…
Make sure to check out Polyvore and follow us!

This week, one of our designers is wearing our two-toned polka-dotted wrap dress. With spaghetti straps and gentle draping, this dress is so easy to wear for work or play!
It’s accessorized here with black riding boots and a cutaway blazer, but would also be fabulous with just some sassy heels and jewelry.
It’s available at Macy’s and Nordstrom Rack.
Happy Wednesday!

Have you heard of Pinterest? We recently joined this new website, and we are OBSESSED!
The site markets itself as a virtual pinboard. What that means is that you download a sweet little bookmarklet onto your toolbar. Anytime you see something that you’d like to save or remember, all you have to do is “pin it!” From all the images recognized on the webpage, you’ll choose one to be saved on your board, and caption it with a little note. The great thing about Pinterest is that it tracks your sourcing- you can come back to your board at any time, and clicking on a picture that has been pinned will take you to the original site you found it on- so convenient for reference!
There is SO much fab stuff in circulation on Pinterest that the best advice we can give is to check it out yourself! There’s food, fashion, travel, organizing, family, DIY, so much more! We’ve got a good starting point for your exploration… BeBop on Pinterest.
